This installation was revealed during the curated art experience, Palomitas de la Revolución. While the front of the theater carries an Art Deco aesthetic, the outdoor space located in the back of the theater is a different ambience. Summertime allowed us to utilize the space to host a backyard party.

The installation reflects the back and front yards you’d find in the hood. Bits and pieces from my friends’ homes located throughout South Central. The forgotten land mower that no longer works, the grill that curate’s carne asadas’ in the summertime, and the plastic chairs that serve as outdoor furniture. A small piece of my history while I lived in South Central.
